Thanks to recently allocated funding from the federal and state governments, Washington hospitality businesses are now eligible for a $100 million grant program aimed at helping support and sustain businesses affected by the pandemic.
The $100 million grant program is open to hospitality businesses impacted by “the COVID-19 health crisis.” The businesses eligible for the relief include:
- Bars and nightclubs
- Wineries and distilleries
- Breweries and tasting rooms
- Catering services
- Event venues
The relief program provides hospitality businesses with grants of up to $50,000 to cover operating and employee costs. Funds distributed can also be used to cover, rent and lease payments, utilities and maintenance costs. Eligible business owners are required to apply for the program and fulfill the outlined criteria in order to receive the full funding amount.
In order to apply for the relief program, business owners must submit an online application by May 31, 2021. Applicants must provide documentation outlining how the business has been impacted by COVID-19, and must also have a valid business license or permit issued by the state of Washington.
